Ulyuh think apple going to go 16:9 for the iPads as well?

Steve Jobs's yacht makes its first appearance

Steve Jobs's yacht is making what looks to be its first public appearance in the Dutch city of Aalsmeer, a bit more than one year after his death. The photographs first appeared on the Apple news site One More Thing and closely resemble the description given by Walter Isaacson in his Steve Jobs biography.

After our omelets at the café, we went back to his house and he showed me all of the models and architectural drawings. As expected, the planned yacht was sleek and minimalist. The teak decks were perfectly flat and unblemished by any accoutrements. As at an Apple store, the cabin windows were large panes, almost floor to ceiling, and the main living area was designed to have walls of glass that were forty feet long and ten feet high. He had gotten the chief engineer of the Apple stores to design a special glass that was able to provide structural support. By then the boat was under construction by the Dutch custom yacht builders Feadship, but Jobs was still fiddling with the design. "I know that it’s possible I will die and leave Laurene with a half-built boat," he said. "But I have to keep going on it. If I don’t, it’s an admission that I’m about to die."

Jobs's family is reportedly on-hand for the unveiling of the superyacht that One More Thing says features a lightweight aluminum exterior measuring up to 80 meters long. Another image shows six of the seven 27-inch iMacs found in the ship's interior, reportedly designed by Philippe Starck. The backside of the iMacs are also visible in the wheelhouse in the video above.

Apple Inc. wrote:CUPERTINO, California—October 29, 2012—Apple® today announced executive management changes that will encourage even more collaboration between the Company’s world-class hardware, software and services teams. As part of these changes, Jony Ive, Bob Mansfield, Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi will add more responsibilities to their roles. Apple also announced that Scott Forstall will be leaving Apple next year and will serve as an advisor to CEO Tim Cook in the interim.

“We are in one of the most prolific periods of innovation and new products in Apple’s history,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “The amazing products that we’ve introduced in September and October, iPhone 5, iOS 6, iPad mini, iPad, iMac, MacBook Pro, iPod touch, iPod nano and many of our applications, could only have been created at Apple and are the direct result of our relentless focus on tightly integrating world-class hardware, software and services.”

Jony Ive will provide leadership and direction for Human Interface (HI) across the company in addition to his role as the leader of Industrial Design. His incredible design aesthetic has been the driving force behind the look and feel of Apple’s products for more than a decade.

Eddy Cue will take on the additional responsibility of Siri® and Maps, placing all of our online services in one group. This organization has overseen major successes such as the iTunes Store®, the App Store℠, the iBookstore℠ and iCloud®. This group has an excellent track record of building and strengthening Apple’s online services to meet and exceed the high expectations of our customers.

Craig Federighi will lead both iOS and OS X®. Apple has the most advanced mobile and desktop operating systems, and this move brings together the OS teams to make it even easier to deliver the best technology and user experience innovations to both platforms.

Bob Mansfield will lead a new group, Technologies, which combines all of Apple’s wireless teams across the company in one organization, fostering innovation in this area at an even higher level. This organization will also include the semiconductor teams, who have ambitious plans for the future.

Additionally, John Browett is leaving Apple. A search for a new head of Retail is underway and in the interim, the Retail team will report directly to Tim Cook. Apple’s Retail organization has an incredibly strong network of leaders at the store and regional level who will continue the excellent work that has been done over the past decade to revolutionize retailing with unique, innovative services for customers.

Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad.

Continuing from the facebook group comment...

Sad to see Scott go, really. He's really been pushing iOS this far.
But in typical Apple fashion, once you screw up it's immediate dismissal.

Browett, though, is an IDIOT and should have never gotten the job at Apple.

Iphone 5 from a hardware point of is very impressive. iOS6 not so much. Considering maps debacle and Siri STILL being in beta along with not as many wow changes to iOS6 I can understand higher management not willing to put up with a difficult Forstall.

While I like the idea of new persons in charge of iOS software development considering the current stagnation, I'm not sure if a hardware design person like Ive can jump head on into software design.

No software design per se. Human Interface - the look and feel and how we interact at a basic level.

Digicel throttles the speed hence why we will never see the true performance.

if its the peak of 4g in trinidad that is really disappointing to hear. If thats the case digicel giving false information. I was at digicel a couple months back and i heard one of the sales rep telling a group of people that the speeds of digicel 4g is just as fast as the US guess thats not true now :(

i had some hope but my 3g speeds were faster and on the iphone 5 i get speeds up to 25mb/s
