That was her intention, but couldn't find anywhere that unlocks a Rogers phone for cheap. Lowest was around US$140.Strauss wrote:Why not just make life easier and get it factory unlocked?
The price dog cheap these days and you will never have to worry about baseband ever again or if you jail break or not.

I tried restoring from a previous back up, but unfortunately that did not work....
Did you restore your phone (to original) first then from a previous back up?

Just like you, an official restore/reinstall was a last resort. But I got it to work after a few tries
if Siri and other pre-installed apps such as Calendar and reminders can't work with it then it's not going to be as useful as when it too was pre-installed.SRASC wrote:Google is set to release a Google Maps app for iOS tonight as an alternative to the new Apple Maps app that replaced it in iOS 6, reports AllThingsD.
Maps had been pre-installed on the iPhone since the smartphone first launched, but the app was bounced in September with the debut of iOS 6. The big reason for the change? Google had declined to provide voice navigation for Apple’s map app, among other features, after it had made significant investment in building out turn-by-turn directions for its own mapping products on Android and elsewhere.
The site said it learned about the release of the Google Maps app for iOS from 'sources familiar with the matter'. Apple and Google declined to comment on the report.

What's the use when you ask Siri for directions and it goes back to the Apple based map?
hopefully they will get past that

Unless it is called by Google voice search.
And yes google voice search is faster than Siri and more 'human sounding', but it's just a web search. Siri is so much more.
