I doubt the router is the problem unless you have a faulty model.

try running DD-WRT on the router and see if it helps

My issue with the Extreme is the 4gb partition cap if using a USB HDD.

Is this real?

If it's (the drive) fat32 yea. I'm not sure if it can read ntfs but surely it can read hfs at least I hope so.

just use a NAS (network attached storage)

a NAS will work with any router and most of them support RAID which keeps your data safe.

^ might work, but a proper standalone NAS has RAID capability

router works fine. the WD TV streams 10GB 720p video files without a problem.

why i say i may need to upgrade the router now is because i'm streaming that same 10GB file over wifi to the mac and then a second time to the tv via airplay mirroring.

the hard drive with the video files is connected to my htpc thru usb so i was also thinking to upgrade to a NAS with a gigabit connection to the AirPort Extreme.

that's a good bit of money to spend on upgrades though :|

your current method has alot of overhead just to play a movie on your TV!

if you have a HTPC, why are you using airplay to play it on the macbook and stream it to the appletv?

or you can just convert the movie file to ".mov", ".m4v", or ".mp4" and turn on home sharing on the AppleTV and stream it directly from whichever folder the movie file is in.

example: with music, you dont need to play the music on your iPhone or iPod and then airplay it to the AppleTV (that is too much overhead IMO). Just turn on homesharing and play the music directly on the AppleTV.

that is like playing netflix on your phone or macbook and then using mirroring to send it to the appleTV when there is Netflix on the AppleTV already anyway!

the HTPC is in the living room as part of the home theatre set up so no problems there.

the Apple TV was bought for another room for Netflix especially but i also wanted the option to play the videos from the HTPC as well. conversion takes too long.

the WD TV i have currently plays the videos smoothly but the software on it is slow. that's y i was hoping to replace it with the Apple TV and use AirPlay mirroring to play the videos...

the AppleTV can stream directly from the HTPC but it will require jailbreaking with XBMC which I don't think is possible yet with the 3rdgen

Very common issue. I hope it's addressed in the 6.1 release.

In theory it should work and if you are getting bmobile 3G to work it is supposed to since both use the 1900Mhz band.
You gave Digicel a call?

Call digi, they did some changes to their system and require the device you're using your account on.

Once you update it stops working. You have to create a new Apple ID to get an email address registered.

First call just suggested I go in store and see what they can do, ill try again tomorrow. It's weird tho there's no reason why I get 3G service if I put it in an iPhone but not when it's in an iPad.

Although it doesn't say in the release notes I hope to God it solves the battery problems in iOS 6.0.1 and 6.0.2.
