Engine swap is usually the route if you are looking for power.

4A-GE 20V or 4A-GZE

Yeah the AE110 comes with a 5A-FE engine stock....which I heard can be turbocharged to give a 30% increase in power......think that's possible?

Dave, you will get more than 30% with the engine swap, for less money, with less chance of something going wrong.

5A-FE = 100bhp
4A-GE 20V or 4A-GZE = 165bhp

just my opinion

i concur with raziel.......with equivalent money spent, you will get more power with an engine swap. 5a-fe being an economy engine....i doubt that anything less then turboing will give good returns.

A 4a-ge 20v silvertop will go in good in a ae110 and cost bout 5k to 6k.

apparantly adding a header would give a 20% increase with that engine

I would wait to see that proven on a dyno.......i tired see "guaranteed 20% increase from performance parts" only to see 5hp gain on a dyno.

yeah do an engine swap. i have experienced first hand tryin to turbocharge a 4afe...wasn't easy at all. total costs were way more than a swap. as to how much power was gained...that's still left to be found out.

4A-GE 20V (Blacktop) in a AE111 BZ-R Trueno

BTW I agree with Mr. Go Slow, no way headers will give that kind of power increase in that engine ....
