Looking at a surveillance system for the house in the near future but not sure exactly what to look for, ie brands, specs etc.
Is this a good one?

Question for you guys. I've recently built my first system by myself about a week ago and since then it worked flawlessly.
System specs:
Asus P8Z77-VPRO
Intel i5 3570K
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
8 Gigs Corsair Vengence RAM
WD Caviar Black 1TB
EVGA GTX 660 (Over Clocked Version)
LG Bluray Player
Windows 7 Pro 64
Thermaltake TR2 700W PSU
HAF 912 Case

All parts were bought from Amazon except the PSU and case. Those were bought locally at Circuit Zone , Price Plaza Chag.

Problem is today while playing FIFA 13, the screen went blank, then I heard a loud pop and now it wouldn't power up. The standby power light on the motherboard is on however, but when you press the power nothing happens. Plese help!!!!

loud pop like a firecracker? possible blown filter capacitor in the PSU....capacitors on a motherboard or card rarely blow (but it happens). do u have another power supply to try it out?

watch out for voiding warranty on any parts if u diggin up in search of the problem.

I'm pretty sure you spend over 2000 USD on that you could of get a decent desktop to play any games .

agreed....the look and feel of an Alienware by itself contributes to a big chunk of the overall cost. not as much as whats in it though.

i can never wrap my head around the weight of it though...some of them are heavy as hell.
