maybe not yet, but android also seamlessly integrates with windows computers and networks. microsoft office and connection to network printers to print directly from the device, adobe flash support etc. i dont know if iphone has that too. but about the ecosystem, i can see android in the future being placed into every network device, from fridge to stove and oven and ur blender. network and entire house and control it from ur fone.

the open source nature of android gives it greater adaptibility. and u dont compromise any stability with a linux kernel. security and freedom is increased. but some ppl dont need all the features that android provides. they just want to use their phone however it comes out of the box and arent really into the cutomizing thing.

Duane, when you say you can transfer your pictures and videos from the phone you mean the ones you took with the phone right?

With an android phone you can copy videos and music to your phone from any computer using it as a flash drive. Yes I know that Apple doesn't allow that because they want to take all your money using iTunes and for me that's a problem.

^ for me it isnt a problem because I can take all my music and movies and transfer it to iTunes and it shows up on my phone.

Granted the iPhone wont play MKV, but its not like I can't convert it to Quicktime mov.
On another note I don't watch full length feature movies on my phone.

It would be hard to on a basically 3" widescreen. j/k

I don't only watch movies. I watch episodes of tv shows as well. And as convenient as you make icloud seem. Transferring over usb is still faster. Sometimes I use an app called airdroid to transfer files over WiFi and its painfully slow.

Apple airplay streams movies and music to car stereos, TV's, home stereos etc etc with amazing speed and clarity over wifi. Alot of devices including car decks are now coming with AirPlay built in.

Cloud based services will only get faster.

Atleast 60% of tourists coming into this country has the S3. Which is surprising it since the S2 used to be about 30% and S1 was like less than 10%. So samsung is gaining huge momentum.

Sadly samsung is becoming the new Apple. People are like yeah S3 is the real deal yeah S3 is the latest and greatest. Everything else sucks.

I taught the Nexus 4 should have gotten a lot more attention. People I meet daily has no clue what is a Nexus. One of my co worker was telling me how Acer Laptops cannot support AMD because

QUOTE "The AGP 1 with the 3 pin socket was designed for intel and putting AMD in that would be a disaster"

This particular Co worker was laughing at me when I bought my Nexus 7. Was selling a girl it and when she asked him about it he laughed at her. She then decided not to buy the tablet because she taught he was a tech wizz and he said unless its a Samsung or a Apple then DO NOT BUY IT. So I just sold it on tuner and got it sold in 48 hours.

So it goes to show that to the average people the only thing thats great is Apple or Samsung.

To answer your question without reading any further about my life story and the AGP AMD 3 pin Acer man I would suggest you buy the Galaxy S4 or the S3 only if you get it at a good buy. Don't pay anything more than $3k for the S3 because the S4 is $5k

Android has a lot more free apps.

If you appreciate smooth performance and want the true android experience with newest updates straight from google to your phone then get the Nexus 4.

If you want a phone that feels absolutely PREMIUM in your hands then get either the Iphone 4 or 5.

The 4 does feel better though. Really heavy and solid. Apart from the general superior feel, The S3 just blows the iphone out of the water. Especially that organic led screen there is no comparison.

^ I don't usually agree with anything you post but I agree the devices from Google are GREAT. They always have the latest updates automatically. the Nexus 4 is a fantastic phone.

where did you get your statistics though that "Atleast 60% of tourists coming into this country has the S3. Which is surprising it since the S2 used to be about 30% and S1 was like less than 10%."

^ Working at the Airport. Atleast the general observation for those who are actually using their phones with the free wifi etc.

So may not be accurate since a lot would just have it in their pockets etc

But gives a good general idea.

But yeah the number 1 phone on my list right now is the Nexus 4.

I was completely satisfied with the Nexus 7. no bloatware and Automatic updates from google no need to get custom roms and stuff the original works just fine. Its so light and fast plus I really have to see that back panel finish with the glitter pattern.

It appears to be similar to the Iphone 4 which I happened to love.

One thing though the Iphone 4 would feel better than any of these phones not just because of the glass and aluminum but because of its size. 3.5 inch is perfect size for your hands, however I just like huge screens for internet use.

Should also note the S4 comes with Removable battery. So you can carry a spare incase you would be doing heavy multi media stuff and don't have easy access to a wall plug. Its pretty nice to swap batteries in a couple seconds.

Since I do mostly web browsing, anything can last me a day. I often noticed that with my Nexus 7 I got a lot more battery life while viewing youtube HD videos with chrome browser than I got from browsing the web.

Its incredibly efficient with HTML5.

You should also consider this the Samsung Ativ-S windows phone 8

My god its quite a beauty.

BTW the Nexus 4 has best in the industry Battery lifespan with atleast 800 charge/recharge cycles its superior to the Galaxy S4 and the rest.

And while AMOLED does consume a lot less power it only works with black color on the screen. In reality the Nexus 4 will use less current because web pages are mostly white BG and IPS display consumes a lot less current with whites compared to AMOLED

I remember a trick I used with my S2 was with cyanogen MOD, it could invert the colors in black and white giving web pages black bg and white text while turning everything in black and white.

u hit a nail on the head.. i dont trust overmarketted products. iphone was always overmarketted and as a result.. overpriced. i still think the s3/s4 are flimsy fones that really cant last long without needing repairs. theyre paper fones 'because shattering is the best shock absorbtion method' lol

but either way.. i always monitor anything im interested in for a while past release date. then i have a healthy amount of user reviews and user testimonials and problems to use in my deciding factor. if the common problems recorded are trivial in my eyes, then i get it. and this is a track record of not one bad buy. everything i buy im happy with and it works how i expect. and most times, i get it from undermarketted products.

and that's just it. i said it about apple and ill say it again. if u have a good product, u dont need to saturate the market with ads and strategy. that and many companies will save the money from marketting costs and apply it to things like lifetime warranties etc. showing that they stand behind their product.. because they know it is made to a damn good standard.

following the crowd was always an issue for me.. in anything. i dont follow. so anything thats on the tv and radio every 5 minutes loses my interest.

Seriously though OP, they both have pros and cons, and the correct one for you is a choice best decided on by you, depending on what you want in the phone. People will post good and bad things about both, but what someone might see as bad on one phone may be good for you, and vice versa.

However, if it were me I'd just get them all - Samsung, iPhone, and Lumia as they're all great devices

My personal preference is the iphone 5 as I already own an ipad mini. However, I've had hands on experience with some samsung devices (s3/s4/note, etc). Although samsung provides a nice layout and allows for ease of transfer of data from multiple folders with the addition of an improved camera and motion sensor in the s4, it still doesn't seem functional. Also, during the launch at digicel I questioned the sales reps on several specs of the phone and only received reiterated answers from the official launch.

The loading times for apps and photo folders are greater on the S4. For a phone such as the s4 with quad core processing is a bit too slow for my liking when compared side by side with the iphone 5. The motion sensor is located too far to the top of the phone making it difficult for your thumb to reach so don't even think about hovering your thumb over the screen to browse because the sensor won't even detect it. The idea of including yourself in a pic as a head shot with the dual camera ability seems pointless. Also, no review was conducted on the camera in low-lighting conditions.

To date, there isn't a specific battery usage time for nominal or continuous use. All that's being said is "enough to get you through your day" and that it's a 2600mAh battery as stated in the Samsung launch. The iphone battery tends to last me a day or two when under nominal use (emails, texting, whatsapp, facebook, phone calls etc.) and in certain cases less than a day when under constant usage for gaming, streaming videos, wifi (if necessary) along with the above nominal use.

As duane mentioned, it's all about personal preference. I prefer the iphone 5 for it's touch sensitivity, responsiveness, size and battery life.
