Rumours of Tropical Storm False
Please be advised that RUMOURS circulating about a tropical storm approaching Trinidad and Tobago are NOT true.
In their latest bulletin at 6:00pm, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service discontinued the flood alert.
Reports from Water Resources Agency indicate that water levels in the nation's rivers are returning to normal.
Please ignore bbm/text messages that may be circulating. Citizens should obtain information only from reliable broadcast networks and the official ODPM Facebook, Twitter, website and sms texting from the sender "ODPM" and not from any other 4 digit sender.
Although Rainy Season 2013 has not yet begun citizens are advised to remain vigilant and cautious due to the continuous rainfall and to adopt mitigation measures to reduce their level of impact from flooding in advance. Please see the ODPM’s facebook and website for more information on how to prepare for and respond to flooding and landslides and contact 511 to report any flooding events.
WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING.
