SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS OVER TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO FOR THE NEXT 4 - 6 HOURS
Rainfall activity over Trinidad and particularly Tobago, associated with the passage of a Tropical Wave, is expected to increase over the next 4 - 6 hours in the form of moderate, and at times heavy, showers and thundershowers.
Given recent rainfall events, moderate and possibly severe episodes of street/flash flooding as well as landslips/landslides are highly likely especially along the hills of the Northern Range, Trinidad and the Main Ridge of Tobago. Rivers of moderate carrying capacities may become inundated.
Rainfall accumulations of between 25 - 40 millimeters and gusty winds in excess of 45 km/hr are possible from this anticipated event.
Citizens are advised to be vigilant and cautious as they conduct their activities.
WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Services is closely monitoring this weather situation and will issue another bulletin if the situation warrants.
