Box lancers came with SR20's as a factory option. This was a south caroni collaboration between mitsu and nissan to target a very specific market.

Voted Tiida.

I drove both and to be fair they both have their pros and cons.

The lancer had a better sound system and all round look and of course the 2.0 version will have it's advantages over the Tiida (I drove the 1.6L version).

The Tiida, handled better IMO and definitely had a lot more room which for a tall guy like me is very important.

If you plan on customizing later on the Lancer my be your car...........but a Tiida with an impul kit is hard to beat :wink:

I vote Tiida! Why you ask?? : looks small (but makes parking easy) but very spacious inside! Engine is peppy enough to move you in and out of traffic and a reasonable pace, gas consumption is good, cabin is fairly quiet (not much road noise), good ground clearance, parts easy to come by at a reasonable price and its a Nissan, kinda built for the kinda driving conditions and roads we have here.

Now aside from the lancer looking better and a bit more powerful....... its chalk and cheese when comes to general mtce and the resale value not all that hot for that kinda money to put out. Besides, the parts aint cheap should you have a collision issue.

Every 1 kno lancer is better in sooooo many ways it looks better it have more features like frm cs up all windows are automatic mirrors an lancer interior isssss so much sexier than the basicc tidas ....... I can go on an on tidas are nice cars but not close to lancer well cy lancer......

Point given there ....but nissan are chep an very low maintenance therefore cheap ppl will tend to go but lancer parts last longer than nissan any day is cheap bastards who puts in sr in their libero an cs an lancer have so much engines wit lots of power

having driven a tiida for quite a wile before I can tell you that the shifter does look and feel cheap.

However the seats are very comfortable, ride height is good, its excellent on gas, ride is smoother than an almera, and its pretty zippy if you're one of those who have a heavy foot.
it's not a racecar though, cornering at high speeds seems iffy - then again, normal sedans

basically if you like expensive looking/feeling shifters buy a lancer.

Not sure how much the lancer or tiida's are for now,
But for the difference in pricing....OP could buy a ole car for weekends to spit fiyaz
and have a zippy eco-box for for the workweek...
