^^very expnsive imho, for a koi farm at least.

Chais too eh no. Expensive.

I find for how all these people breeding the fish themselves they should have reasonable prices, but the cheapest prices are actually in the petshops!! And they not even breeding them!!

There is a Fish Farm on Mausica Road, D'Abadie
It is located south of the Hghway

http://www.chaisexotics.com/

There is also a next thread which could be of assistance: Trinituner Fish Keepers, Aquarists & Aquascapers

i purchased a dozen koi, from Chai's jus over 16 mths ago, paid $10.00 each for one and they were jus abt 2" some a little bigger...

Today the largest koi i have is 14" long and the smallest is 8" in length... very healthy and happy...

The only food i feed them since i got them was Flamingo Pond Food.

I don't find anything at Chai's expensive.
And the fish is always healthier (appearance) there than in those mall petshops.

petshops sell throwbacks.........rubbish........when less than 5% of a spawn will become something worthwhile...I can understand when someone has a white-skinned koi with white fins & scales with NO blemishes & they want $1000 for it.... cyar turn yr back on a specimen like dat !!!!
.
even Chai doesn't put out that 5% locally.......I got a tri-color that I thought slipped his culling process last year...nice clean-cut red on black on white patches.......left pectoral fin was about 1/3 shorter than the right...essentially a reject....
.
I'm going through my 3 sets (small, med, large) of kois right now & getting rid of what I consider to be unworthy...I'll try some pics of the reject bunch & u guys can decide if u want to try something...

There are a lot of koi breeders in Trinidad, most of us like to stay below the radar and supply most of the bigger farms and petshops... I recently spawned these 2 kois,

my previous spawn frm the yellow are really impressive but not ready for sale...

Alexander Trace, Munroe Road, Cunupia
A guy that lives next to my work place has recently started selling as I see he's put up a sign.

Will try to get a phone number for you. He's really small scale though.

Jumping koi is a sign that your water quality is poor. Kois need clean water with lots of oxygen. Hope your filters are working with bio chemistry in order.

Nothing in that link is remotely as impressive as those pictures posted by KL , small breeders for FTW.

I get much better quality orandas and red capps from a small breeder . No constipation with normal flakes or tetra pond sticks . No ich or swim bladder disorder .
