A modern road or mtb bike of good pedigree is designed to withstand all weather.

^ would you say the cannondales are better than Fuji?

when I realize I can barely ride 2 miles on flat road is then I understood how badly out of shape I am. If I ride to work I can't complain about things like well I too tired to exercise wen I come home because of the Job etc

Any key differences between a $2600 Fuji 1.9 Nevada and the $3900 cannondale?

I understand both are aluminum. But I am liking the Paint on the cannondale I googled a trail 6 that was green and black.

It look real sweet jed.

The only difference I see between the 2 is the Fuji is not disk brakes.

I eh know much about the details but both sound rather impressive, most are greek to me lol

cannondale is better than fuji but all do the same thing, look at the components on both not much difference, they mix the shimano components. alvio ,deore ,acera low end products but they work great, then the brakes may be disc or rim, hydraulic or mechanical. you get what you pay for. the question is what do want to use the bike for ? if is just to ride to work and have no intention of going on the trails go with the cheaper bike but that is just my opinion.

fuji warranty in trinidad sucks....bikeinn offers a year or two....
cannondale is a year on parts, lifetime on the frame.
i have my cannondale since 2008, changed the crankset, chain and cassette (due to wear)...replaced cables and housings about 2.5 years after purchase.....bike still feels as good as the day i got it.....

Cannondale were the pioneers of modern lightweight aluminum frames.
Last couple years aluminum frames have made a comeback against carbon fiber.

Cdale has a line of aluminum road bikes called caad which have cult status.

OK then I will go with The Fuji cause its only for flat roads and no actual climbing.

$2600 sounds like an excellent price in bike inn.

I guess I will carry it in every 2 years to replace cables and brake etc

This one is not disk brakes but it will do fine.

what are you guys thoughts on the Fuji Nevada 29er 1.5 @ Bike Inn for $4700? There is also the 1.6 26er for $4000, looking for something to use on the road during the week and trails on the weekend, without breaking my budget, how would this compare with the Cannondale Trail 7 and Trail 6?

Trail newbie so I'd appreciate a balanced discussion thanks

I would recommend the Cannondale... got mine earlier this year for the price you cant go wrong if u compare to other brands with the same line up of components ... the local dealer (trinirider) honors the warranty ...no issues with my bike tho... i got the trail sl4

After some research I have decided on the cannondale.

I learn that even the cheapest cannon adventure 3 is built off aluminum alloy.

It appears to look like the alloy from my demon d2000 audiophile headphones. Its the most expensive feeling you can get touching a metal.

Lookin at the pic Trini rider posted you can see even the handles are made of this expensive alloy.

I will however have to lose some fat first with my old rusty cheapo bike first I am 250 lbs and a steel bike can barely make. But the cannon looks much better than the fuji

there is not really a particular bike material "feeling"
as the geometry, material thickness and even within carbon fiber
there are vast differences.

^ not for professional riding though.

I just looking for a bike to ride on flat road with very few bumps and if any its cause it didn't pave smooth. normal trini highway or paved road you know how it is.

Reason I looking for something higher than el cheapo bike inn bikes and tunapuna market bikes is because all of them does rust and look nasty. And parts seize up quick with little rain.

This far Fuji is top on my list. Only handle bar is steel. Everything else is aluminum not bad for $2600

Well that's why u have to spend a little more to get something that will last you cannondale, trek and giant are the most readily available high quality bikes in Trinidad,
all bikes in there lineups are quality from the very bottom so u can't go wrong.
Fuji I don't have experience with as tbh I still indulge in some brand snobbery.

^^went to check out the Fuji yest, seem pretty good esp in the under 6K budget, Cannondale's local warranty is far better than the 6 months Bike Inn offers but their 29er bikes are pretty solid with their entry level parts being on par with the Cannondale, you even get hydraulic brakes, manual lock out on all and remote lockout on the 1.3 ($5500), for the average rider doing road and light trails they seem to offer the most bang for the buck
