Yea a few km's out into d gulf out from chag. We have a few banks dat we does normally always hold on but since dat damn oil spill I think dem fishes move or just fishing not like before dat happen, just guessing though.
Yeah, spearos catching hard time as well, all the usual productive spots barren with the straggling pag here and there. Father only catching parrotfish and crappo lol. There was bait inshore yesterday and he put out live baits. Huge crappo draggin off, they take over for groupers lol.

yeah the banking scene really gone though in the Gulf. The trawlers doing a number too from the Gulf up to Saut Deau. Might have to start banking on them deep banks out North when the breeze cool down
different species seen there. silk snapper from the yellow in the eyes and black base of the pectoral fins from what I can see, although I find that ventral fin looking like it's off a mutton snap. the darker red one looks like a genuine red snapper, southern or something. body shape, eyes and fin shape seem to indicate that direction
Those looking mixed with predominant Lutjanus campechanus and vivanus. Depending on where they're found people add the prefix, american reds, gulf reds and caribbean reds.
