HELP: GA15DS Troubles

Postby teensicle » July 28th, 2014, 10:25 am

I have a b13 with a GA15DS (the carb version), at times i will be able to drive the car fine. However sometimes when i start the car up it will idle but as soon as i tap the throttle one it shuts right off.... If i try playing with the throttle it will drive but it sputters like crazy. I checked to see if all the vac lines were connected and they are. Does anyone else have a suggestion as what could be the issue?

carbed models dont carry O2 sensors.

Carb needs a clean, also check and see if the below base isnt warped.
typical problems on certain carbed vehicles.

Sb64, it's simple. If you don't know, don't post with incorrect information for e-pips....

The ga15ds came with both an "ecu" and o2 sensor but start by inspection of your plugs, plug wires, check for vacuum leaks and also service your carburetor.

Quite rite the ga15 does carry an o2 bt ok if not de plugs check de filters it hav one to de rear as well And what I think " ted" referring to is the space between the cab and intake manifold although there is a gaskit there it sometimes waps and de gaskit is not enough to prevent suction so you can fix that with some silicon or shave de cab base( machine shop)

Little update: i found out that the electric choke coil is not functioning so when it's suppose to close or open the choke dependent on the condition to start at times it was always wide open or completely closed.

Sounds like the accelerator pump is not working.
Engine will suffer similar symptoms.
Maybe you need to get that pump working, rather than replace the carburetor.
Peace.
