I really have to say congrats to David Lyons on a race well run. I thought he did really well considering this was his first time out on the circuit up against some very experienced drivers. Just need a little more power in that little Swift.

the Renault was 50 lbs underweight except for the 1st race i think so the win was given to paul viera n the red 2nd gen rx7.. Had a lot of arguing in the price giving ceremony where they were going to give 1st place to the renault but luckily good sense prevailed.

The Renault was driven all day by a European (Either French or Dutch) driver and not Franklyn Boodram, the French driver is also the person who set the fast times in the Renault.

TTASA also showed how poor their organization skills are by:

Not Disqualifying the Renault & French Driver when the car came in underweight, trying to hide it and then telling the Guyanese and Barbadian Teams that they should file a protest. Once a car comes in underweight, the competition officials should automatically disqualify said car and competitor, this is how it is done at all forms of racing...plain and simple.

Also some qualifying times were changed or somehow magically unavailable when time to start the races. This happened to both a Bajan and Trini driver.

The last CMRC GP2 race was mixed with TTASA GT1 & GT2, the second place trophy for CMRC GP2 winner was awarded to the wrong driver and not given to the correct winner, TTASA officials could only say it was a mix up, and eventually corrected it when most had left the prize giving function which had came to an end. This should not have happened in the first place.

Some other points;

Pace car driver had no idea what he was doing - you are there to set pace and maintain the formation for the rolling start, don't speed off leaving the grid behind and then in catching up to you the formation is broken and another pace lap has to be done. Almost all of the rolling start races this occurred.

CMRC- Stick to their regulations and do not try to bend the rules to suit certain people, you only embarrass us in front of the other CMRC countries who help set the rules and are ahead of us in racing.

Timing System and Transponders - Great that you have one now, Karting has been using it for many years! However educate those on its use and ensure it is setup properly, Times were mixed up, some lost and this was unfair to drivers.

Marshalls - Some really great guys and appreciate the work done, there are some that need training on how to deal with pit crews and how to enforce rules reasonably, also ensure those handling race flags know their meaning and how/when to use them. Get those blue flags out for those drivers being lapped!!

Track, Pit, Parking and Spectator Areas - I must commend TTASA on getting this organized in such a short space of time, I think the areas were well planned out given the constraints.

young blood- Time to recruit some younger persons to help with the organization of races and running of the club, the older folks who have been around for the 30-40 odd years need to give the younger generation the opportunity to help build the sport and put in good ideas, it will only benefit all.

Cars that were present on saturday were given stickers (letter sized pages with names on them) to identify tent. Yet on sunday, other persosn in tents. and TTASA officials not able to allocate spaces.

Entrance fees paid for competition.
There from 8.30a saturday. Officials show closer to 10a, to then here about an additional fee ofTT$50 to complete scrutineering.
Protest fee however is US$100.

Timing system was said to be "borrowed" from TTKA. With competitors FORCED to rent transponders for TT$500 on saturday to get qualifying times, and this was disclosed just before qualifying on saturday

As far as organization goes.
The schedule received prior was not what was followed on saturday.
The schedule received on saturday for sunday was also not what was followed.
Thankfully there was an announcement one race prior, which allowed "enough" time.

Luckily there was no incident when an Rx-& stalled on the line in the middle of the lane, and two officials attempted to push it to the side. No other marshall flags were being shown, except for one of those said officials waving a ROLLED red flag while cars passed at speed.
Also when madcow went off, cars had time make two laps, before the marshall before that point was instructed to not use the green flag.

Won't even get into the conduct of some "officials" when dealing with public, and each other in front the public. Common sense is trumped by the "rules", except when it's their pardners exercising common sense.

It really is a pity the Evo was unable to complete it's race. It was being very well driven. It picked up the shrapnel from the other car's bellhousing at 6:03

^^^^ So thats what happened to it, i saw the incident but i thought something broke from his car. Good spotting....if there was debris on the track, especially metal, it really should have been cleared by the marshals. There was also an incident at the bottom corner during the parade where a car caught fire and the Marshals remained in their tent. I think a lot of training is needed.

Been too long since we last had circuit racing.....it will be like starting fresh again.

^^^^LOL, I think he meant exceeding the limits of the track, four wheels off the track is indeed illegal and a stop and go penalty in F1, dunno about 10 lap sprint racing like here.

The transmission on the Evo broke. Spoke to brian after. Theirs broke on Saturday - they bought one from boodoosingh and installed sat night and it lasted 8 laps on Sunday.

Excellent points from bluecp9a..must say credit to him tho - performed rely well for a first timer to circuit. Marshalling not up to standard as I said before, and pace car driver was never able to allow drivers to keep their formation. Many times races started with a different order from quali
