All is not lost, run it at 4 ohm. Series the coils.

Its no big deal you know. Double the power does not mean twice as loud, in fact its nowhere near.

Was actually kinda starting to think so inno... Its prob jus mind over matter o jus really wanting a single 8 to be pretty devious.....

Ted... I prob cud review in a few days/ weeks when i think i fully satisfied with the setup n "tuning".
But i must say its pretty impressive. Never crossed my mind yet to upgrade sub to bigger or switch brands....

I.ve confiscated a clarion preamp and pioneer USB head unit from my brother... Gonna be swapping em in this weekend...

Have to org some new pics o the trunk area... Time doesn't permit me to be able to document all stages of building the amp cover and compartments for storage....

The sub won't let you down, in fact since your ride appears to be a wagon/suv so that should sound impressive. Get at least one volt meter for your system, that way you will know whats going on power wise. My dd is in the trunk of a p11 and it plays hard for a little 8, it is the main reason I pulled my splx15 out. I now actually have a trunk and one optima is all I need to power it up, my system is 1 dd 8, 2-6x9 + 2-6 components powerbass, 1 soundstream 4ch so rear channel on the sub and front channel on the 6x9 with the kenwood powering up the components. As mentioned above the newer decks have loads of eq and cross over capabilities so there is less clutter, so take your time with your install and do it once.

Just something to keep in mind when setting those gains.

... The suspension came loose from the cone.... Gonna repair soon....
For now is mids n high rite tru.....

Seasons greetings bass heads......
So I finally have some time this holiday to continue my build....
Last Christmas project was to install the wiring etc in car.... This years project is to make the fiberglass enclosure....
So I need help to design a port for the box....
As previously mentioned... It's gonna be molded to the left of the cargo area to allow a fully functional compartment, access to the spare.. And full access to fold seats down for when I,m working....
Pics with my progress will follow soon

Hadda resize pics to post.... But basically I hv 5.5" depth avg to work with.. 13" height and 25" length... I'm trying to use as much mdf as possible so the base is cut off 3/4" mdf board... The face of the enclosure is also cut from 3/4" mdf..... The issue I'm having is figuring how I fit the port and woofer in there... Shud I use a round port or regular slot port... I've seen ppl do extended ports the stick out the box in tight spaces but I'm more into a stealth install... Any ideas?

Again... Will post pics soon...
