What I do with all my tools is use diy brands. When they break I replace them with better quality stuff. If they don't break well then I got a awesome tool for a decent price.

Right now I wanna buy a half inch electronic impact gun. The Milwaukee catching my eye. The dewalt 3/8 looking good too.

I could get corded impacts for 800$ brand new. Ideal for axle nuts and wheel lug's. Everything else Its a bother. Limited access due to the size.

The portable fuel series At SSL I believe I saw them 18v. Was almost 2400$.

I already have a air compressor with impact, air rachet and air hammer. Two of everything rly but the amount of noise that thing makes, I get annoyed easily.
Its a electric unit. I wondering if I should just swap over to a unit with a motor and a pump. They usually are pretty quiet.

Something like that. Can't remember but it's a chiney unit. My friend has one and he is using it daily as a mechanic to do axles and wheel nuts. He loves it.

craftsman seems to have slightly more power
both prices are really good

I bought a mastercraft 20v cordless impact 1/2 drive it was on sale at Canadian Tire for $119 when I got it while on vacation 2 weeks ago.

http://m.canadiantire.ca/en/tools-hardw ... nt=Default

Tried it on my lug nuts and it was able to loosen it. Didn't try it on anything else.

Got these last week....

The impact worked great so far to drive 3/16" tapcon screws into the wall
It supposedly delivers 111ft/lb torque

I would recommend a >200ft/lb for automotive work

The hammer/drill/driver is great also:
3 speeds
21 setting Clutch driver

^^I have the 20v brushless motor one

it is a beast, no longer use corded hammer drill
this thing can snap bolts, screws like nothing

Ended up buying cordless angle grinder and getting recip saw as they all use same battery
will probably get the impact later

Battery type wasnt really an issue....
The drill/driver is balanced well with the NiCad battery...
The LiIon though lighter, throws the balance off.

The NiCads a cheaper also and the new XRP batteries give impressive service.

you may want to get the 4 or 5ah battery packs in the future to run those tools

Well thats my plan too...
I'm gonna get the 18v jigsaw next
And maybe the circular-saw

All my projects are small and these tools are overkill...but i strongly believe in "buy once, cry once"
One battery with 1hr charger will be good for personal use

I looking to start building my own packs when these die.

Already converted a 14.4v nicd to a123 lithium.

Looking for a mortise chisel, anyone know where I can find?
Don't have a router or a drill press so I'm going to attempt to make a mortise by hand...

This is a small teak table I made with a kreg pocket jig but I found that the screws caused the wood to crack and it isn't as solid a joint as I would like which is why I want to use mortise and tenon joinery for a large dining table I'm going to build next....

I've wanted to buy one of these sets for a while but considering the shipping costs. What's the weight and how much was the skybox cost, if you don't mind me asking?
