Get a Pet has a large Arowana, perhaps you could inquire with them.

The arapaima is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world. The last one I saw sold for about $4500.00

Where do you plan on keeping it OP?

Nah, I don't want to have that thing suffering in my pond.

Anyhow OP, the petshop in San Fernando, Nature's World, had one a while back.

Yea
They have 2 huge ones with some massive pacus in a pond.

When i inquired about getting one, they said that they get every so often and its a bit expensive.
I guess u can check with them and put in an order to secure 1 when they do get.

Be mindful...these fishes eat a lot so be mindful what you are getting into

I'm wondering what would one do when an adult arapaima dies? How does one dispose of a 7ft long, several hundred pound fish?

I've had a pacu reach 3ft before, but those bastards ate through the electrical wire for my pond pumps, not me and them again.
