always thought it was called a compressor....lucky thing i didnt ask too many questions to the ac guys....wouldve looked stupider... thanks nerve

lennox suppose to be a goodish brand but these days every brand is becoming a sticker brand.... hope the fins dont deteriorate and fall off like the others....

a rep in boodoo's aircondition said that the comfee fins are gold plated and last longer than regular ones....dont know how true it is

I have been using a Comfee for 7 years and honestly this a/c should have been buss by now..the thing working in very demanding circumstances with servicing once a year (should be 4 times a year though) . I will continue with the brand.

Well we all have to learn, I wasn't sure what is what at one point in time either.

Not sure if Lennox carries same internals as any other brand but I know it to be good stuff.

Fins deteriorate from use of that coil cleaner and chemicals guys use to clean. From the time you see them pull out that, run them.
Lg have units with gold plated fins and if I'm not mistaken gree has that option too (think is saw it on the site). Seen 2 year old units with gold plated fins falling apart because of these YouTube techs.

Can't remember offhand but comfee supoosed to be similar to another set if units on the market.
Once installed properly a unit should give you some years proper. 7 years is nothing, worked on a 7 year old unit last week and its off no brand name. Was installed properly and still working strong.

Forgot to ask if that $2600.oo was installed.

SJR imports on tuner also retails gree units.

I myself looked at the panasonic recently, damn good units. But parts *cringe*

On another note, customer service seems to be non existent at another place named after an ocean. Set of F**king little kids playing behind the counter.

Anyone have any inverters long enough to say if the additional cost is worth the power savings in the long run?

Considering getting one for an office that will need to be cooled four about 8-10 hours per day.

Know one person whom finds the inverter unit weak. Not calling brand....cant remember brand for that matter.

You might save if its that amount of hours. The inverter units pull some high current when they now start up and have a large heat load. As they transfer the heat out the room they eventually throttle down the compressor operating speed and current draw. They also eliminate the high current draw on startup that the conventional units have.
If its being used from in the morning it should also start up with a medium current draw as the room shouldn't be hot and throttle down. This has a lot to do with location btw

And to answer the above post *whistles*

I researched inverters, seems like its NOT worth it. Its always "up to" x amount of current its gonna save. These up to is really tested in perfect environments. A bit like how some cheap computer manufacturers can rate a PSU 500 watts but its done in a freezer and is not representative of the real world.

Now there is something to consider due to the compressor unit carrying a circuit board in inverter models the board tends to go bad, because of the outside humidity. These boards are expensive.

So depending on the environment and luck or bad luck for that matter you could very well be wasting your time on an inverter especially those sticker brand inverters. LG inverters aren't even rated well their boards are known to fail and I mean LG is a top brand thats actually first world quality so you can only imagine them 3rd world sticker brand inverters.

^^ I agree. Bought a 10,000btu Toshiba Inverter and it runs warmsish even with regular servicing.

12,000 btu in another room seems to cool better.

Take a read through the thread.

Only good reviews on them so far.

I myself have two, no complaints.

They alright, closer to the bottom of the barrel quality wise.
Have a lot on the market so I assume parts readily available.

Problems are the usual usual, see if the cooling capacity decreases within a few weeks if so much. It would be an indication that there is a leak in the system. Common issue with techs doing half way work.

Did the use a vacume pump when installing it btw?

Some problems are covered up nicely btw.

I mean newer inverter units on the whole. Some of the first set weren't all that.

From what I read Inverters are not worth it, LG ones give problems and they brag about how superior their circuit boards are.

Basically we live in a heavy humid climate this causes lots of issues with circuitry, the inverter has circuit boards outside your house on the compresses unit imagine how high humidity gets when rain beating down on a sticker brand? and the cost of the board is very high to replace. Whatever current you save going back into the unit.

Stay away from those unless you maybe getting an LG to buy. Inverter units work great in the desert etc where humidity is almost non existent. The only way I see inverter making sense is if you use it constantly night and day, and if the room is air tight sealed and very insulated otherwise inverters are kinda useless since they use more or less the same watts. It has to do with efficiency in how the compressor turns on and off.

I have yet to see this board that you speak off in the condenser. I understand some have a temp sensor that allows the main board to vary the fan speed.
Very open to correction on this.

Here this is a Daikin and a Samsung AC, all Inverter units are supposed to have circuit boards like this on the condenser outdoor unit

Because its outdoor the humidity takes a serious toll on it in a short time. This isn't a problem in desert areas though

Are you sure you checked properly? its supposed to be on the outdoor unit
