Paul Pogba’s next destination had for so long looked to have been Spain. Barcelona spent last summer back and forth attempting to force the hand of Juventus, Real Madrid made no secret of liking him too.
Even this time last year, even before his storming season in Serie A, it appeared the 23-year-old might be on his way out of Turin.

Manchester City were also keen, Chelsea as well, but the former balked at a £71million price tag and the latter seeing a £54m bid rejected.

June 2015 and Mino Raiola was already welcoming the attention. ‘Offers are already coming in, but Juventus don't want to sell,’ he said. ‘They must make it an auction. His transfer would be one of the most expensive in history.’
Raiola was not wrong about the money involved as Manchester United are now willing to break records in order to possess Pogba in the middle of their midfield - they hope to close a deal surpassing £100million.

But their firm interest in a player to have left for £800,000 in compensation just four years ago has crept up on others around Europe, heightened by the appointment of Jose Mourinho as manager.
Louis van Gaal would not have been afforded such resources as a level of trust centred on where he was taking United dissipated.

United were first mentioned in March as it become clear that Van Gaal was being pushed aside to accommodate the arrival of Mourinho, who was not given the finances to fund Pogba at Stamford Bridge.
Seven of the continent’s wealthiest - United, PSG, City, Real, Barcelona, Chelsea and Bayern Munich - were referenced by Raiola. The super-agent revealed each club had informed him of their interest.
It was around that time when Paul Scholes gave United a nudge as to who they

Argentina legend Diego Maradona has expressed his sadness that Gonzalo Higuain could be leaving Napoli for Juventus but blamed "fat cats of business" for the move.

Sky Italy reported that Napoli striker Higuain had undergone a medical with officials from Juventus and had agreed a deal to join the club.

Napoli and Juventus remain in negotiations about a potential deal for the 28-year-old Argentina international, with the buyout clause at almost £79m.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Maradona, who won two titles with Napoli, was particularly upset that his compatriot would be leaving the club for a rival Serie A side.

"This Higuain affair is hurting me because he is going to a direct rival like Juventus," he wrote. "But we cannot blame the player either.

"A player has a responsibility to himself and it is those fat cats of business that are grinning the most in this case.

"Nobody thinks of the fan."

Both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have been credited with an interest in Higuain this summer but it appears as if Juventus will win the race for the player.

Maradona coached Higuain during his tenure as manager of the Argentina national team from 2008 to 2010, but his statement seemed to be directed at Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis rather than his former protege.

'I'm tired of saying that today it seems to be more important to be a good businessman than a good president," he continued.

"This did not happen in my time. Too bad that FIFA continues to sleep."

it's a free world, Juve is the biggest club in Italy, and better chance to win Champions League.

The acquisition of Higuain has nothing to do with Pogba.
As I have been saying for months now, Pogba ain't going nowhere. All that is being reported is being hype.

Now imagine Dybala behind Mandzukic and Higuian. Detrimental.

LMAO. Higuain despite his poor showing with Argentina when it really matters, is 2nd only to Suarez in terms of number of goals past year. The man is a consistent source of goals.

Coutinho decent but at Barca idk? If it's one player who needs to get whisked away from that dreadful EPL is Hazard.

Corinthians accept Villarreal's £2.5m offer for 60 per cent of Alexandre Pato's rights

Image

Corinthians have accepted to sell Alexandre Pato to Villarreal for around £2.5million, for the 60 per cent of his economic rights they own, say Globo Esporte.
The Yellow Submarine - who finished fourth in La Liga last season to earn a Champions League spot - offered the €3m fee to the Brazilian outfit on Monday, with Pato owning 40% of his rights himself.
The 26-year-old striker moved to Chelsea on loan in January but only played twice during a disappointing Premier League campaign.

That was despite scoring on his debut from the penalty spot - after winning the spot-kick when fouled by Aly Cissokho - in a 4-0 away victory over relegated Aston Villa on April 2.
His only other appearance came the following week, as Swansea City beat the Blues 1-0 in Wales.
After a fruitful spell with Serie A giants AC Milan between 2007-2013, Pato moved back to Brazil with Corinthians.
He spent his first season with Timao before being loaned to Sao Paulo for two terms, and then Chelsea.

La Liga looking like truth next season...
Messi
Neymar
Suarez
Pato
Ganso...all in the same league *faints*

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... e-rejected

Arsenal have had an offer of €35m (£29.3m) for the Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette rejected.

Lyon denied that Arsenal have submitted a new bid of €48m for the 25-year-old France international, whom they insist is not for sale.

“Arsenal made an offer of €35m which Lyon didn’t accept for one reason alone – we will keep Alexandre Lacazette,” read a statement released by the club.

Arsenal failed in their attempts to sign another striker, Jamie Vardy, earlier this summer when the England international opted to stay at Leicester City. The Gunners are reportedly ready to spend up to £75m in a double move for Lacazette and Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez, but Lyon are determined to keep their star player. Zlatan Ibrahimovic alone has scored more goals in Ligue 1 over the past three seasons and Lacazette, a converted winger, is thought to be nearing his prime.

“Lacazette is one of the main leaders of Bruno Genesio’s squad,” Lyon’s statement continued. “We categorically deny having received an offer of €48m [£40.2m] from Arsenal for him, as has been reported.”

Lacazette has been linked with a number of big clubs since scoring 27 league goals in the 2014-15 season and is thought to be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium, but Lyon’s financial difficulties are behind them and they are not compelled to sell.

Mr. Wenger, spend some freaking dough!!

Juve haffa hope he can give a good 5 years minimum at that price.

Suarez was 28 when he moved to Barca for around 80 mil.
In Europe's top 5 leagues over the past year, only Suarez has more goals and a better goal scoring average than Higuain.
Once he doesn't think Juve is Argentina things will be good

The market is inflated but Juve earn a lot more lately.

If you look at 2014-2015 UCL revenue distribution, teams that got to semi final or later earned at least €50M (Juve earned €80M I believe).

Juve will get TV revenue, increased ticket revenue and shirt sales, Serie A revenue (who else going to win) and UCL revenue.

Serie A champions Juventus have completed the signing of the Argentine forward and will pay the Partenopei €90 million for last season's top scorer in the Italian league.

The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with Massimiliano Allegri's side, which will see him pocket €7m per year.
