[quote="Phone Surgeon"]That i8 that was seen on a flatbed leaving the port about a year ago..anyone ever see it around? Any truth to this?
Image

The Namalco family just generally don't drive their exotics hence why the i8 is hardly ever seen, tell me when last y'all really see their Mulsanne, Ghost, 458, GTR, Continental Gt or any other of their exotics on the road? I guess that means all those have battery problems to then, smhhh

The bottom line is these people ain't flaunting money they acquired from selling greens in the market (no offense to the greens man).. This is real money fellas. If you've got the cash to bring in a i8 or any other exotic car, you've more than got the cash to buy a replacement car should something go wrong or got bored with the color lol..
A battery or a whole lot of batteries are the least of these people's worries.. If it needed a battery and it couldn't be replaced locally, it can be shipped to FL in a matter of days to have the work done.. Money ain't an issue for some people, and that concept might be difficult for some of the lesser mortals to grasp.

They could fly in a battery AND BMW techs to install and test locally. Nerbert has no clue.....

Nah allyuh shining up d man for nun lol. The context of the post was another company selling i8 locally for 700k and another poster saying is minor maintenance if anything on wrong and the battery could easily be changed.

Yes I'm a Tuner here. I've been here with the founders of this website since version 1, day 1.

To clarify briefly, that quote is a snapshot of a different conversation and was reproduced here without any reference to the original context of that conversation. I made no mention of the i8 owner's identity therefore any other persons' inference about who owns it and their usage habits is their's alone, not mine.

The i8 was just an example to highlight that even with significant resources at your disposal, a hybrid that is not properly supported by trained technicians can be problematic and frustrating. Now adjust your minds to the middle class family that buys a Hybrid Japanese vehicle or even a european Hybrid SUV (that isn't properly supported) and they experience a problem with the vehicle beyond routine oil changes and maintenance. The gentleman with the resources to acquire the i8 could not resolve the problem with it in under a year, what do you think would be the position of moms and pops with their unsupported hybrid vehicle and limited resources...

In it's proper context, my statement was intended to caution everyday family folk to be smart about their hybrid purchases and be aware that even the best vehicles give unexpected problems sometimes. It had nothing to do with billionaires and batteries. The majority of people that buy and drive cars don't understand enough about cars to make informed purchasing decisions and some people are selling them the fairytale that if the hybrid platform stops functioning they can continue using the vehicle because it has a regular gasoline engine. That's like saying if someone gets a heart attack they can continue living because their lungs are still ok. Not enough people know enough about cars to know the truth when they encounter slick operators.

That's all - The End.
