At this point, DJI only really competing with themselves.

same thing I said!

after eyeing the Phantom 4, Mavic Pro and Spark, I think this one checks all the boxes for me, except the wifi instead of radio frequency communication. The Mavic Pro uses radio, while the Air uses only wifi - I'm not sure how that will affect range.

Amazing drone, definitely looks like the one to get. Glad they finally offering some different color options.

Their fpv goggles priced kinda ridiculous tho.

Correct. The WiFi is my issue as well. I feel like this was a step backward as the original phantoms had them and it cause issues. However I don’t seem to see any tech reviewers complaining about signal loss or interference. I need to do more research because one of the pros is that this is the first pro-consumer drone to support 4K at 100mbs.

I have the Spark.
I can get at least 2 km with the controller. More if you use the antenna signal boosters, but then you're at the limits of safe return due to the short battery runtime (about 12 to 16 mins).

I love this new Mavic Air, but sadly, I'm not made of money.

Ketch arse going in and out of the country if you travel with the drone. Customs will want to charge you every time if its not registered.

The Mavic Air? Already? it's gonna be pricey shipping it in here at 3.4lbs

paying nearly double the US$799 cost in shipping, duty and VAT even with a skybox
