1. make sure you have 50,000TT

2. Go to government printery on Tragarete Rd.

3. Get forms 11 and 16

4. Fill out forms and accompany with your medical, eye test, blood test, certified passport picture, hunting permit record from forestry, hunting group affiliation, hound dog birth papers etc.

5. Submit forms in person to firearms department at police headquarters. Don't leave these at the front desk else they will lose it has happened to mines, also don't leave at your district police station for the same reason.

6. Prepare to wait indefinitely till you get real old for a response, if any at all. ( Unless you know someone who know someone or greasing the wheels etc.

Its the same procedure as applying for an FUL for a pistol, only difference is whats written in the permit.

manualmx correct

Firearm license hard to get. But STRA south Trinidad rife association training with all types of guns. Also there are aligned with IDPA. Now to use the club weapons you must have an employee license for the range. It have the south Trinidad hunting association also you can join. The only thing STRA real expensive to join and ammunition price high because the management change and the new treasurer is a money Satan.

you could just go through a firearm dealership who would have 'links' and be able to save you a headache once your gonna buy the gun from them

That only works for air rifle permits.

For a full fledged FUL the difficulty is greater than that.

I know members of the IDPA who have been aligned with the club for years and have been blanked repeatedly for all types of mundane reasons, sometimes no reasons at all. The thing is, once you meet the requirements, you are legally entitled to own a firearm in Trinidad. This being said the firearm appeal board is currently dysfunctional and they used to be very instrumental in having people gain their FUL when blanked initially. Hopefully they return to business soon with the new changes being made etc. If you do happen to know someone who can have your application given priority amongst the 40k plus applications sitting in the firearms dept. your chances are better. Normally the applications are just added to the existing mountain and forgotten.

The dealership back in the days would have 'helped' you for a 20gran and I do in fact know a few people who have gone this route and have received their permits in record time despite not meeting the criteria.

What's the cost of a legally obtained firearm?
Is there a way to legally possess a non-lethal weapon like a tazer or even those extendable baton sticks? This place is getting more and more unsafe by the day.

what is jokey is that a pcp airgun is much more expensive than a handgun
dont be surprised if the cops start making it difficult($$$) to get airgun permit since the market for those is much bigger than ful

can't happen. since, thankfully, airguns of .177 or lower and fitted with smoothbore barrels are not considered firearms, it'd take an act of legislation for the TTPS to be able to restrict who has access to them. Anything other than that, if the CoP does try such he could end up with egg on his face for his overreaching.

I still do not understand tho, since our local politicians so hurry to follow UK legislation, why the hell is it that only the CoP can issue an F.U.L. here.

It would be assumed that being a cop is a govt puppet job and one of the perks is to be in control and receipt of any associated bobol with ful

Any update on your application yet. I'm also a member of the idpa hoping to get a FUL. I was told today that the Firearm section are processing applications for June 2017.
