Students at the College of Science, Technology and the Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) are being advised to exercise extra caution and vigilance in going about their activities following the Wednesday afternoon robbery of a student at gunpoint.

The student was reportedly robbed by an armed assailant around 4.25 pm on Wednesday just in front of Balisier House in Port-of-Spain, a stone’s throw away from the College’s Melville Lane campus.

Karissa1 says Kimberly is from Light Pole 60 Vega De Oropouche, Toco Road, Sangre Grande.

She was last seen wearing a pair of blue short pants, pink top and a pair of shoes.

She is of East Indian descent, five feet and six inches tall.

They used a sledgehammer to smash their way into the Republic Bank’s ATM at Coral Cove in Chaguaramas, but were forced to make a hasty retreat, leaving it behind, as well as the money they intended to steal.

After a shootout with cops,however.

It was 2:30 am on Wednesday, when both the security and police officers responded to the alarm which was triggered when the bandits attempted to break their way in.

Early reports suggest the cops found the thieves tampering with the ATM. They fired shots at the police officers before making a hasty retreat.

Two men are dead following a robbery attempt in Petit Valley last night.

The deceased men are believed to be bandits who went to rob a group of men.

According to police reports, the incident took place around 11:30 on Friday night.

Three men, with bandanas over their faces, entered a tyre store along Morne Coco Road, Petit Valley, and announced a holdup.

One of the men, police said, was armed with a gun.

They then took the proprietor of the store to a back room.

However, the businessman resisted and was able to grab the gun from the armed assailant.

During the confrontation, the weapon was discharged twice, hitting two of the three bandits.

One man died on the compound of the business place, while the other died on the roadway while attempting to flee the scene.

The third assailant managed to escape.

Both deceased men were unidentified up to 9 am on Saturday.

Man held for abducting, sodomising 12-year-old boy

A 21 year old Cascade man who allegedly forced a 12-year-old boy into a vehicle at gunpoint, and sexually assaulted him, has been arrested by police.

The suspect was arrested on Monday around 10 p.m. at the Curepe Branch of KFC.

The attack on the child occurred on Saturday while he was walking in Port of Spain on his way to extra-lessons classes.

Around 9.20 a.m. the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at the schoolboy and ordered him into a vehicle.

The suspect allegedly took the child to an unknown location where he allegedly sexually assaulted him.

The suspect allegedly dropped off the boy at Lady Young Road and sped off.

The child sought help and was taken to the Central Police Station where the incident was reported.

Police said the suspect faces charges of common assault, robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, buggery and grievous sexual assault......
