The axio may be the better for an econobox.

Axio for age, parts and resale.

Don't think stylish is a consideration with either.

look at the broader picture
Look at your fuel consumption .
most important is parts . whats the cost of replacement parts and the availability ?
look carefully at the models and talk to your parts dealer about parts for it
there is 3 models in the Axio. there is a Singapore model (local) an 2 japanese some difference in the lights .
the Japanese models you can get foreign used body parts cheaper and more readily available . As for suspension parts.
Also look at the year of manufacture of the vehicle. talk to your mechanic let him check the cars out . it easy to disguise a lemon.

Between those 2, Axio. But bear in mind, while you can get it for 60k, if you dont take care of that transmission, a replacement can cost a quarter of the car's value or thereabouts.

The CVT thread has a lot of info.

The Toyota is better than Nissan in terms of durability and quality but if I had to buy a Axio given all the complaints about the CVT transmission I honestly might take a Nissan.

Almera transmission is $1000 or so.

Out of all the small light Almera is the best car if you buying used and have to worry about buying parts. The price dog cheap

If you buying a Axio then cater to a new transmission one time, you have no idea how the previous owner took care of it and how that previous owner took care of it.

Remember it is CVT, I rather buy a manual 5FWD Axio

Toyota cvt has better reliability from speaking to a guy who does a lot of cvt repairs
Cvt oil should be changed regularly

This is not accurate information.

An almera transmission is $2000-2200 and its old beat out foreign used parts you’re getting.

Other parts are much more expensive and you get poor quality aged items now because the cars are so old. Things like an air flow sensor is $400 foreign used.

The axio May be the better choice for the mere fact that it’s much newer of the two and you would have an easier time getting parts for it as well as better service intervals. Forget what people are saying about the transmission failure. Service at the correct intervals with the correct fluids and when it goes bad do a rebuild by a reputable transmission repair shop. It would give good service thereafter

axio is better choice honestly. newer vehicle. once it is properly maintained and you dont cheap out on the cvt fluid and service you will have no problems. Most of these so called problems they have with the cvt is maintenance based as well as using wrong fluids. Toyota cars hold value better anyway
