that could be like a prequal to the matrix, before the agents, before the invention of 'the one'. and these events lead to the concept of the one.

^Animatrix had a story set in Japan with a glitch in the Matrix, called a haunted house, and some people half-realizing the reality. But Agents fixed it the next day. After that, experiences at the haunted house could not be replicated by the people who initially observed them. And all was well.

Animatrix covered stories like that where people started figuring out their life was a simulation and "self substantiating” themselves out of the Matrix and into the real world.

Check out the book “Simulacra and Simulation”, it was featured in The Matrix.
