I would use unblock us which costs $6 US a month and Netflix which costs $8. Both offer free trials, there's also Hulu plus but I'm not sure if that requires a US cc. Both the US Netflix and unblock us accept PayPal.

No lie, raptor prices cheaper than most places online

I dout any store locally beating those prices, idk if he allows for cc payments or Paypal so you don't have to meet him to get the cards.

Hey all,

I don't know if anyone had this problem or if it was discussed before.

I purchased an iPad 3 for my mom from the US in June and when I had it set up for her, Facetime was working.

However, I recently discovered that Facetime and iMessage no longer works. When trying to sign-in with her AppleID (an email address), it gets an error message "FaceTime Activation: The user name or password for ***@yahoo.com was incorrect. Try again."

I am certain that the password is correct (I even had it reset to make sure - and yes I tried with the new password). The AppleID works fine for the AppStore and for signing onto Apple's discussion forum (both before and after i had the password reset).

I eventually contacted support who had me reset her network settings and that still did not work and said they were not sure what could be the problem. She mentioned that a restore may work but I would like to do a restore as a last resort.

I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and could help.

Item: Apple iPad 3 (WiFi)
Edit- Latest Firmware iOS 6.01 (I believe - I checked and they were no updates)

Thanks Parvin,

As I said I would like to do a restore as a last resort. If anyone else has any other suggestions I would appreciate any info.

No, I have not tried restoring from a previous back up....Reason being I do not want to use my PC which is registered to my AppleID.... I will have to find another PC (without a registered AppleID) to do it...

The price dog cheap these days and you will never have to worry about baseband ever again or if you jail break or not.
That was her intention, but couldn't find anywhere that unlocks a Rogers phone for cheap. Lowest was around US$140.

Everywhere else (i.e. other mobile providers like AT&T, Sprint etc.) was like US$40-50.

Parvin,

I tried restoring from a previous back up, but unfortunately that did not work....

Did you restore your phone (to original) first then from a previous back up?

Just like you, an official restore/reinstall was a last resort. But I got it to work after a few tries

The best fix is to backup your documents and photos to iCloud, perform a clean install, setup as a New iPad then use iCloud to restore the documents and photos.
NB: Restoring the settings will restore the corrupt data

Google is set to release a Google Maps app for iOS tonight as an alternative to the new Apple Maps app that replaced it in iOS 6, reports AllThingsD.

Maps had been pre-installed on the iPhone since the smartphone first launched, but the app was bounced in September with the debut of iOS 6. The big reason for the change? Google had declined to provide voice navigation for Apple’s map app, among other features, after it had made significant investment in building out turn-by-turn directions for its own mapping products on Android and elsewhere.

The site said it learned about the release of the Google Maps app for iOS from 'sources familiar with the matter'. Apple and Google declined to comment on the report.

if Siri and other pre-installed apps such as Calendar and reminders can't work with it then it's not going to be as useful as when it too was pre-installed.

What's the use when you ask Siri for directions and it goes back to the Apple based map?

hopefully they will get past that

Can't get pass something like that duane. You know how tied down the APIs are for iOS third party apps. :(

Anyway it's out.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google- ... 27354?mt=8
Has turn by turn and street view among other features.

Unless it is called by Google voice search.

And yes google voice search is faster than Siri and more 'human sounding', but it's just a web search. Siri is so much more.

You can't.

Hi guys,

So this happened to my iPhone5. Could this be repaired? The cam and flash is working fine, so it's just cosmetic.

Trying to understand.

Did you set up as a new phone?
Which means you got the congratulations message?

Not a case, I hate cases. Why buy such a beautiful phone to hide it away in some bulky crap.

That's an invisible protective skin, will never scratch or break.

I have a Zagg original full body if you interested...not the break protection one though.
