The Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association held its 6th event for 2016 this past Sunday
at the Arima Race Club car park. 3 classes would be competed on the day; ‘Cadets’ hosted 3 entrants,’Sportsman’ hosted 5 entrants and ‘ Rotax International’ had 6 entries.
Karting is known to be the starting point in most motorsport driver careers; and that was evident as one could see the likes of prominent names such as Ainsley Lochan,Scott Sheppard, Haresh Nanan,Jr Philip and Ronald Wortman to name a few working on and being heavily involved in there child’s racing on the day. Not to mention a strong family presence of Mothers and siblings in full support.
On a day that heavy rainfall was expected,the only water seen was that being consumed by drivers trying to deal with the hot conditions. Each class would contest 3 races for the day with an increase in total laps every run. At the end of competition Nikhil Nanan was the top Cadet,Dillon Ali the top Sportsman and Che Carrington the top Rotax International.
The next event is carded for October 9th at the same venue.
