When you think of the La Vega Estate in Gran Couva, most often images of lush green vegetation, beautiful plants on sale and eco-resort style recreational facilities come to mind. This was not the case on Sunday May 29. For one amazing day, hundreds were treated to the sounds of wastegates, engines hitting rev limiters, wailing sport bikes, and dust kicked up by dirt bikes driven in anger.
The reason for all this mayhem was Bin Stuntin’ Promotions War of Wheels show, the first of its kind in T&T. If you never heard of Mike Ouelett, Geoff Gaskin, Kyle Sliger or Joe Tobolic, you’d be lifetime fans of theirs after seeing these foreigners perform their amazing repertoire of two wheel stunts. Oulelett and Gaskin had jaws dropping with their airborne motocross acrobatics, while Sliger and Tobolic showed what world class sport bike stunt riders could do within the confines of the poolside area. Outlet and Gaskin took time under the Motul tent, to sign autographs and pose for photos with as many kids as they could.
Not to be outdone, Bin Stuntin had local BMX riders put on an impressive show alongside the stunt riders. In the car park arena, it was four wheels and tyre smoke galore as the Marztech crew laid down some serious rubber with some proper sideways actin. Those lucky enough to hang around after dark got to see the local boys drifting around and UNDER an excavator.
