The Caribbean Motor Racing Championship has been around for years, consisting of competitors from all the way down in Guyana to all the way up to Jamaica. For the year 2015, there are four carded rounds hosted in Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. Yep Trinidad and Tobago, after 8 years out of the game so to speak, Trinidad and Tobago hosted a leg of CMRC for the 2014 championship and no doubt they are hosting a leg in 2015.

Racers target new track records at repaved Wallerfield SeaBoard Marine CMRC 2015 Racing Meet

In less than a month, fans will be able to experience the best-ever Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) circuit racing meet, as this year the stars have aligned as never before at Wallerfield. The track is scheduled to receive its first resurfacing– a racecar driver’s dream– before the June 20-21 2015 event. This means that the fastest Group 4 cars in the Caribbean will finally run at full potential, with last year’s 41.69-second track record on the line.

With two race wins apiece, Ryan Peyrau (Trinidad & Tobago) and Stuart Maloney (Barbados) are the new leaders of the Swift Cup and SR3 Cup, following yesterday’s (May 17) second round of the Suzuki Challenge Series at Bushy Park Barbados. The Swift Cup has now risen to a 12-car grid, while both entry lists included new names.

Driving for Team Suzuki 5-Year Warranty, Trinidad & Tobago’s Ryan Peyrau made an instant impression at Bushy Park Barbados on Sunday (March 28) when the Suzuki Challenge Series was launched. The two new ‘one-make’ Championships – the Swift Cup and SR3 Cup – were the feature events at the Valvoline Glassesco John ‘Tiny’ Harrison Memorial Race Meet, organised by Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc.

Two exciting new one-make circuit racing championships that look set to revolutionise regional motor sport – the Suzuki Challenge Series – were introduced to the media today (Thursday) at Bushy Park Barbados, ahead of the inaugural races at this weekend’s (March 28/29) Valvoline Glassesco John ‘Tiny’ Harrison Memorial Race Meet.

Jamaica, host country of the opening round of the 2015 Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship last weekend (February 28/March 1), has taken a huge early lead in the Country standings; highest points-scorer for the home side was Jordan Powell, a hat-trick of victories in Group 2 giving him the maximum possible 75.
Reigning CMRC Driver’s Champion Kristian Jeffrey did the same in Group 4 to help Guyana to second place, while fellow-countrymen Elliot and Stephen Vieira shared the CMRC Superstock bike race wins; in the new-for-2015 Group 3 category, Jamaica’s Noel Golding won race one, Garry Barrett of the Cayman Islands the other two.
