Gene Samuel sells the Trek brand- mine has held up pretty well.....
you can get a solid bike new for that- and probably a used one for less.

Their after sales support is great too.

My 820 was mid 3000s in 2018-which was the last time i checked.
Although I would have got it 2016/7 ish.
No issues with it-other than a broken axle which they had in stock and replaced.

Check Motorcycle ETC in Cunupia.
They carry the cannondale brand and I've recently switched from specialized to cannondale.
Good folks, and really good prices.

Whats the average cost for those bikes , so far fugi within budget at 3500 and also they said they can facilitate a payment plan for me, the only downside they out of stock, so might just start to pay easy so by the time they get stock im fully paid out.

Buying a bike is a can of worms.

Rich folk buy expensive bikes thinking it will make them faster.

They spend thousands on a very light bike to go faster and all they have to do it lose weight which cost nothing.

Then you have very cheap bikes which are mostly junk and potential death traps.

Word of advice is stay clear of disc brakes bikes, they are crap which over heats and causes problems. The bike industry pushers dics brakes cause it's more money for them.

Carbon mountain bikes, often will crack and shatter on hard impacts. Aluminum is the better bike , it can withstand impacts but gives you stiffer and very harsh ride Aluminium over time and use will start to flex and that's when you have change it . Expect 5 years service on an aluminum bike if riden at racing level and training

Stick to an aluminum bike and rim brake wheels. Don't use Carbon handle bars cause it will shatter on impact.

Look for Japanese made parts on bike, they are the very best for money and will last you. Stay clear from Chinese bike parts.

If you’re not into hardcore MTB riding then maybe a gravel bike might be best since it can be ridden on multiple surfaces.

Here is my 2020 Cannondale Topstone Carbon.. It’s the most comfortable bike I own and it takes a beating off-road & on tarmac.
I can totally see a gravel bike being fun in Trinidad though some of those Rally stages (cane fields). I have a 11-40 rear cassette with 36/46 chainrings so it’s perfect for hills.

Cool thanks for the advice. I cut grass as my hustle, did engineering in uwi but got laid off awhile back, so not looking for anything beyond my means, the fugi within price range, reviews are good about it and most of all the payment plan works for me. I think the fugi and the couple others are good balance of quality and price. Just using that bike as a good warm up ride to the gym, train and ride back. Its just the couple mad drivers on the road these days, but will deal with that when that time comes. Thanks fellas for the advice i know where to come for advice.

Top notch advice from an experienced cyclist.

Just get the best gear to fit your pocket. Plenty options boil down to personal preference. Have fun on your journey, buddy.

If you want to save a lot of cash, look for used bikes on Facebook. When looking at used bikes look for frame damage/cracks, and the condition of the mech. Drivetrain components can add up.

You can't go wrong on a Fuji plus their parts are reasonable good value.

Start off on a starter bike and see if you really enjoy cycling.

One tuner said gravel bikes are a good option, so you could go that route.

Some folk rush into cycling but after a few weeks they park the bike up and money kinda wasted .

Excellent advice, I did just that. Bought 4 used Fugi bikes for the price of one and they are working fine for now. Its just for family fun so I dont need all the fancy stuff.

Bike inn also sells lower brand bikes,

But Fuji is one of the best and you can't go wrong.

Its for a 7 year old. There weren't 20" other than some crappy plasticky junk.

I managed to find a good one at the bike store next to Massy St. Augustine.
$1400 and it looked and felt solid.

I wanted a smart trainer to mix things up a bit

Saris or Maybe TacX depending on availability and price. Didn't buy it yet.

if you do, get a copy of the book ^

Basically I would not advise non racing cyclist to buy a power meter, cause its a waste of money if your don't intent on racing.

Training with a power meter is a can of worms if your don't know what your goal is.

You don't need a power meter to get fit, Just ride your bike in a gear that feels comfortable for you. No huffing and puffing.

Wanna get fit then ride your bike 5 to 6 times a week while increasing your time on the bike.

An easy one hour a day for 6 days gets you fit

Eg. Your one hour ride now may cover 14 miles but in a month of constant riding you can cover 18 to 22 miles

A Pro Tour de France cyclist , they train 4 to 6 hours a day and can cover over 120 miles . They do this 4 to 6 times a week.

Normal Trini road racing cyclist cover around 200 to 300 Miles a week . Strava has all this data, most will make a 30 to 60 mile per day and on weekend will cover 60 to 100 miles . Most don't use power meters
