Well boy looks like they got counted in the 38 today. When did they get tested and when did they get their results?

Actually, it was just the 2 adults (husband and wife) got tested, the kids all under 5 years old, weren't tested. But it's 100% likely the kids have, they just aren't showing symptoms.

Found out they got tested last Friday and got the results yesterday.

Okay, real talk here. Now is time we make some smaller adjustments to prevent more drastic measures later. If the government takes action now, we can avoid a full lockdown.

Here's want I want to see:

1. Immediately re-instate the restrictions on sporting events. People are using sporting as an excuse to gather, to drink liquor and to lime.

2. Re-impose the restriction on in-house dining. People putting alcohol in tea cups, but worse people are liming and gathering in restaurants for extended periods of time.

3. Bring back the officers and the ticket book to enforce the mask mandate.

Gentlemen, we can do this. Godspeed to Keith and the CMO. Let's get this done.

It's been a while since I was on this massive covid-19 thread.

I just want to note that with the 38 new cases today, given the lack of adherence to most measures, which I myself am guilty of, I think we can be at the beginning of a dangerous exponential growth cycle.

It would be wise to lock down a bit right now to stem this, but our Epidemiologist would advise far better than I can.

Chance of infection increases when people are not wearing a mask properly and not social distancing

Long COVID: 70% of patients still suffer debilitating symptoms five months later, study finds

Seven in 10 people taken to hospital with COVID-19 have not fully recovered after five months, new research suggests.

The UK-wide study also found one in five developed a new disability in that time.

The survey, which was led by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Leicester Biomedical Research Centre, analysed 1,077 patients who were discharged from hospital between March and November 2020 following a coronavirus infection.

Muscle pain, fatigue, breathlessness, short-term memory loss and slowed thinking were among the most common reported symptoms.

More than a quarter had clinically significant symptoms of anxiety and depression at their five-month follow-up.

Twelve percent had symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, while almost half (46%) experienced reduced physical performance.

this lil bump is is not enough for us to change anything, both reduce or increase restrictions from their history of action.

and without the history of action by gortt, its still just a small bump. u WILLL get covid popping up, its just as long as it remains low.
remember, the normal flu kills 40 persons a year. covid has killed over 100 persons in just a year. normal crime has killed nearly 80 persons in 0.25 of a year.

u dont want NO spread, u just want low spread.

if it does jump up and stay up, then u go with some pause as barbados did. but this has to be from a sustained rise over a two weeks or so. cause as u come out of that, people will move around and spread it again, and then u lock down again, and that yo yo see saw ting is what will make people vex.

Persons cannot travel, but there are local transport businesses both Trini and Vene owned that transport cargo back and forth from Venezuela.

Venezuelans send back foodstuff and equipment like generators and they bring in Venezuelan stuff like white cheese which Venezuelans can't live without.

Let's do some math.

India and China donated 140k vaccines, Africa and covax are another 500k roughly. Ansa buying 300k?

That's around 1M vaccines. Which covers 500k people.

One third of our population, not nearly enough for herd immunity.

At that point probably end of 2021 or early 2022 Covid is still around but deaths would have mostly stopped due to high risk persons being vaccinated.

The danger arises if there's a new strain making these vaccines void.

doht study MoH figures, covid was swimming here way more than their meager testing could show. a lot more people over came this and never even knew. those numbers plus the vaccines will be enough to move forward, or at least put it as severe as the flu.

the spanner in the works is the new strains that the vaccines not tailored for. might just throw u back to square one. not talking bout the new strains now, talking about a potential new strain a lot more different from the ones now. say like from someting swimming round in the amazon in brazil or africa. and get chance to mutate undetected for months and then get pushed out.
