Ukraine claims it has taken back territory in the east that was held by Russia since it annexed Crimea in 2014.
According to military officials in Tavria in southeastern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces have captured "territories near Krasnohorivka in Donetsk" and are continuing to advance, state media Ukrinform reports.
Another Ukrainian official claimed that Russian forces had been pushed out of the area about a week ago, but the information was not made public for "tactical reasons."
Ukrainian forces claim to have taken the area prior to the Wagner insurrection but only announced it Saturday.
CNN cannot independently verify battlefield reports.

The Leader of the Wagner PMC Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin has spoken for the first time since his attempted “Coup” against the Russian Ministry of Defense stating, “Despite the fact that we did not show any Aggression, a Missile Attack was launched on us. 30 Fighters were Killed and others were Injured. This served as a trigger for our Immediate Advance. One of the Columns went to Rostov, the other towards Moscow. Was not a single Soldier was Killed on the Ground. We regret that we had to Strike at Aircraft, but they Attacked us with Bombs. We traveled 780 km, this is 200km to Moscow and we Blocked all Military Bases and Airfields along the way. Among the PMC Fighters, there are several Wounded and 2 Dead - among them Employees of the Ministry of Defense that decided to join our Cause. None of the PMC Fighters was Forced to March, and everyone knew his Goal. Our March showed Serious Security Problems across our Country but it was never our Goal to Overthrow the current Regime and Legally-Elected Government.”

But how do you ban the use of a letter that doesn't exist in the Ukrainian language? Or in the Russian language? That didn't happen, and you must have just been trying to be funny.
Z is just the symbol that was used to mark Russian military vehicles that invaded Ukraine. Z has come to mean propagandist support of the war. So, you dropping the Z, is you fully embracing the illegality of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. For the same reason, some companies, Samsung, for instance, have quietly dropped Z from their model designations.
You have embraced the change, sCREWED. Russia has simply become a shadow of itself.

Private military group Wagner has conducted much of its recruiting through prisons, offering convicts the chance of freedom once they have completed a six-month contract fighting in Ukraine.
An Associated Press investigation has now found instances where convicts returning from the war in Ukraine have committed further crimes - even murder.
Ivan Rossomakhin was convicted of murder three years ago and sentenced to a lengthy prison term, but was recruited to the Wagner group.
When his contract was up, he returned to the Russian hamlet of Novy Burets - and within months, he was arrested on charges of stabbing to death an elderly woman who he had once rented a room from.
Residents reported Rossomakhin had drunkenly wandered the streets carrying a pitchfork and threatening to kill everyone.
The Associated Press found at least seven other incidents in recent months where Wagner-recruited convicts were involved in violent crimes.
In Kaliningrad, a man was arrested in the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl after taking her from her mother, according to a local media report and one of the girl's relatives.
Other incidents included a shop robbery at knifepoint, the sexual assault of two schoolgirls, and two other killings.
The British Defence Ministry had warned of the fallout in March, saying "the sudden influx of often violent offenders with recent and often traumatic combat experience will likely present a significant challenge for Russia's wartime society" as their service ends.
