And added to that crawling .5-2mb max speeds with the latency and packet loss makes using the internet fun.... Even a simple whatapp msg stalls before sending

It's probably a small group of us that are complaining and they wouldn't take us seriously until people actually start cancelling their service. As someone previously indicated, they technically over subscribing and their uplink bandwidth is clearly not enough to handle current users.

I am completely done with them. Im back with red provider full.

Sorry many of you are tied into a contract

Nope^... Amplia is pure garbage... Very simply put. I've been having issues over a 2 week period whereby the modem keeps going down. It reboots itself until it seems "fixed" and goes by down again. Yesterday it went out, technician available on Monday 1st sept(d mc)

Was willing to give them a try for gaming, believe current provider - Digicel and Flow are over subscribed however they were supposed to come last Tuesday, no show, scheduled to Wednesday no show…. No feedback from them until late Thursday where they assured Friday ….
No confirmation on Friday so I emailed them and told them to cancel the request

Miraculously they’re trying to call via the automated service to set it up tomorrow …. But sorry they missed their chance with last week’s no show

Been 2 weeks now and it's working nicely. Can't say the same for Digicel.

Really considering switching fully now as those inconsistencies with Digicel IP ranges drive me insane. I can reboot this calix modem a thousand times and the latency will always be the same.

How is everyone connection so far? Really trying to make up my mind.

Nope personal router and network... Works good during day and peak hrs latency goes up and we loose speeds.... Now it not as bad as before but still there

Entire day would get 72-85ping gaming and peak time is 190-220ping...and it would get better by 11pm... Issue starts at around 7pm.

Everyone in area same issue...when gaming thay i found out from and played with online

I have a feeling that over subscription in areas is a big reason for poor service, particularly with Amplia.
I had it in an area years ago and had no issues while many others in other area had horror stories.

If there was a way to find out how many users in the area amongst different providers, it might shed some light.

Have your tried their smart wifi service.

For those that have Calix. You're basically getting the 803G ONT which is technically in bridge mode and a optixstar-k562

Not sure those with Nokia and Huawei ONT will get.

https://e.huawei.com/eu/products/optica ... xstar-k562

The Wifi experience is way better. You guys should give it a try.

@gastly369 so i took amplia to try the service and what a shitshow it was. Before the guys left i did a speedtest and ping and imagine the pings was over 150ms to miami and the upload speed was 30mbps LOL the download was 298mbps though. Tech said you have to call in to sort out any issues. Guess what. After 2 hours of testing i called and cancelled their service. They charged me $28 for 2hrs LOL and i am free of any contractual agreement as i told them i am not keeping this sheit show to be binded by no 2 year contract. I will stick with my digicel and pay their high price. Just wish they can sort out that 48hr new ip issue and everytime you get a new ip it's a different ping for gaming. Very annoying! I seriously don't know how based on your experience and issues you cannot get your contract to end without paying any fees. They definitely not keeping their end of the contract. Just giving my udpate and ofc they are aware of the ping and upload issue but nothing is being done in the short term or long term so why keep their service? Apparently them feel everyone does just use internet for youtube and social media. BS!

Damn..lol. What area? if you don't mind me asking. I have Digicel and Amplia , neither great. As you indicated, that 48hr ip lease which cannot be solved is trash. One minute, you can be get pings of 47 (which is rare) then other times its 84-100. As you install high end routers you begin to see all faults with their networks. I called Amplia multiple times concerning that ping issue and its failure. I gave up. But in terms of consistency with speeds when it's actually working, amplia would be my choice. You can reboot their modems and i guaranteed you will get same ping (once its low) consistently . Digicel and their constant deviation is trash. Some how Digicel connection feels as though it's being limited/throttled at times. I never get that feeling with Amplia.

Some said it can be an area issue, not sure.
