All the Proton prices bar the emas7 are incorrect. There have been pretty big price drops in the year since they have been introduced.

Proton X50 P - $229,950.00
Proton X50 F - $269,000.00(not sure where this price is now)
Proton X90 P - $299,000.00
Proton X90 F - $339,000.00

In the case of the X50 I guess it would make way for the facelift that came out earlier this month with similar looking interior to the Emas 7 and a sharper exterior as well as a little more power.

So they finally picked sense and saw what Maska did bringing in the hybrid version LWB and did the same. I Always wondered why we couldnt of gotten it through the local dealership when islands like Jamaica got it. I wonder if they have access to the AWD version as well and at what cost. It seems to be coming with more tech this time for us more in line international models.

Being an insignificant RHD market probably is the biggest factor.
Massy and ANSA at least have operations in other territories. SS is just Trinidad not so? So their ability to take big shipments is probably much less than the other two big showroom companies.

Co-sign, a lot of times smaller markets will have to take whatever excess a production line may have. The more top features becoming standard on all production lines helps get more feature rich options locally

Finally the LWB model! Anyone knows if the top spec trim is AWD? If so, that's a very decent price comparative to the Tucson.

And BTW Massy just got the LWB Tucsons in as well, at $10,000 more than the SWB version they were selling.

Lifestyle has stopped selling the Swift? Could have sworn I saw some Swift Sports in their El Socorro/Aranguez parking lot recently.

Nice!!
Actually know a few ppl bought the X90 Flagship at the 400+k price. Needless to say they couldn't believe the price drop within one year. Sucks to be them.

I like them. Technology to the brim. Test drove the 7 seater version last year which is more or less the same as the 6 seater except for the 2nd row seating, panoramic sunroof and boss switch for the front passenger.
However the engine sounds like a tractor and despite the small displacement with its 3 cylinders mated with a mild hybrid system the fuel efficiency isn't all that great based on real world reviews from South Africa and Malaysia. The test model in Chaguanas was reading 16l/100km when I did the test drive but that's probably a lot of very short runs.

With that said I actually have reserved an eMas from the next shipment. The thought of no more gas stations and servicing once a year is proving to be a big draw.

And just TT$25.00 to fill the "tank" at home with 400-500km of range

There's also a Type 1 charger in the car park in work. I just need to establish who owns it and wouldn't even need to spend $25 at home very frequently. It does have a phone number on it to call just haven't gotten around to doing so. Even if they limit the charging to 3 hours like Shell does at their HQ in St Clair that's a cool 140 to 150 kms in range per session.

I have had mine for about a month now, so far so good. I was looking at the X90 - a nice, big SUV for $ 299K - but the DCT was a hard no. I dislike driving a DCT because of the hesitation between gear changes.

^ Ppl do need to be cognizant there will be an upfront capital cost to properly install a charger. My garage is well over 100' from my panel box so my cabling costs will be a big high. But I spend on average $1400 a month in gas so the payback will be within a year for sure.

I also think a lot of people can get by on Level 1 charging if they’re diligent as Trinidad is small. Wiring up for level 2 is surely more convenient
Between overnight charges every few days and weekends you can put back the mileage you use most times

The rep in Ansa say even though the car coming with a 120v charger plug they don't recommend it as a long term charging option.

Yup I ran a 220v outlet in my garage and just the connection from the panel to the outlet 40ft away cost $2500. I didn't want to run it surface though.
