Which Alarm?

Postby Black_Primera » April 24th, 2010, 11:35 am

PRESTIGE APS 25N or VIPER 350 PLUS. What is difference between the two alarms besides the price?

if u serious about security....then u cant be serious if u thinking bout prestige alarms...

they do what an alarm does which is alert u and ppl around if someone trying to break in the vehicle...however...in the evnt that u have a skilled thief working on ur car...consider that alarm useless...

high end brand alarms like clifford for example have no color coding for their wires....like how prestige wires are blue, green, white, red yellow, etc.....the clifford wires are all black...the installer actually needs to install the alarm with the booklet...prestige alarms u cud follow color coding common sense... :|

soe of the higher model cliffords have immobilzer features that if a thief cut the wrong wire it will send a burst of electricity and fack up yuh ecu....so yuh car will cah even go anywhere...

viking1705, Don't leave your church because you are truly blessed. My alarm tech told me about instances of Prestige alarms damaging ECUs. I can't explain the exactly what he said but I know is to stay away from those alarms seeing that I own a "Thief me please." Almera BTW.

Oh, he also mentioned what Casper said.

^^^yea boi...why would u wanna cut ur alarm wires???

unless u changing alarms...i dont see the reason to...with some of the cliffords...even if u hot wire the car...it wont start unless the alarm is disarmed...which will require cutting the live wire...which u wont be able to do without fackin up d car's ecu

it have plenty easy ways to by pass an alarm in a few seconds...once u know where to find the wiring....most cheap alarms if u ground them to the body of the car will cause it to blow...and vuala!!!...yuh eeenside

if u buying alarm...invest in a reputable brand one time...cheap alam jes wasting yuh time and money :|

yeah i mean a prestige alarm is about what 350, whereas a viper costs about 800. Now there is a difference there.

Some people is say you buying name, but if you think about it, they have a reason why you buying that name and most of the times it is QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE.

most of us have alarm not really to prevent car from getting thief because we have our secret other ways of preventing that,
but alarm to help in preventing break glass and music getting clear out,
well thats the main purpose of my alarm system

You should also check in with the insurance company. Some companies will only let you get the security system discount if one of their approved alarms are installed by an approved installer.

YUP

and a lot of the those "fly by night" installers and alarm brands are not recognised by insurance companies

Viper 350 plus is a great alarm, in comparison to the aps25n anyway, also alarms are totally dependent on the way they are installed, take the best alarm and have a side ah the road man install it and when yuh car get stolen you wonder why, take the average alarm and have it professionally done and there is a big difference, i know, to the op, PM me, I can assist you if you don't have an installer, i won't charge alot and i can gaurantee the quality of the work!
