Thats what needs to be done. Then and only then ppl will understand what it means to own a car.
If diesel goes from $1.50 to $7 per litre in the space of a day what do you think will happen? This is an open question to anyone not just you by the way. Add super to the mix from $2.70 to $5.45 per litre and ask what the repercussions would be (apart from people "learning" the true cost to own a vehicle)

We should look at the suitability of the craft selected and why they were selected.
I suggest that the procurement, and implementation of the WT was corrupt and poorly executed.
This from people involved in the process
We should re look and do a proper feasibility study that looks at the size, frequency and routes that make sense when combined with the right type of vessels
The Gulf of Paria offers straight line access from Point Fortin to Sando and To POS/Chag.
Its free no maintenance and infinitely scalable.
I would look at hovercraft-easy to maintain( diesel or aircraft turbines)we have existing expertise, fast and easy to land -just reclaim a couple acres of land, and suitable to Gulf of Paria conditions.
Flexible and scalable.

The Rapid Rail IMHO is a massive expense and a 15 yr lead time,is fixed in place and costly to maintain.
Successive govts have demonstrated their INABILITY to manage a project like this so it will be a free for all.
I say decentralize, offer tax incentives for companies to leave POS,encourage telecomutting, flexi time, car pooling,-improve the public transport and THEN see if we need a solution like this.
