It people like Mr. Mahase or whatever he calls himself who crease me up. I presume he is anti-PNM, but then his PM (if he's UNC) didn't travel overseas a lot, or take time off, or go on holidays, ent? this country's political culture is screwed since both parties act the same, even if PNM isn't as openly corrupt as UNC was.

And i dunno if this counts as an achievement, but then free wifi at Citygate, or Sando High Street, or wherever.
http://www.trinidadexpress.com/20170425 ... oming-soon

More connectivity is a good thing, but then PNM has to show how it can improve business, which is really the point of a digital economy.

I hoped this PNM government would do something, or at least focus on areas that UNC neglected like diversification or crime, but then Dr. R's only excuse is "lowoilprice" and "no FOREX!" I really reckon PNM can lose, especially if UNC get back St. Joseph, Grande and PDP/Duke gets Tobago East. That alone nullifies PNM's majority. I have no confidence UNC/Kamz 2.0 would do any better.

So on i95.5 they we fondly recalling the grenadian of North and how many have parents who are grenadian. These were the people brought in to voter pad. These are people who are the real drain.

Biggest achieved goal: making these grenadian seem like they were always here.

The irony. Didn't Dr. Rowley justify the guarantee of loan to protect a Toilet Paper raw material supplier to the tune of US$ 5 Million? They should be rolling in the stuff...

http://www.trinidadexpress.com/20160322/news/govt-to-guarantee-us5m-loanto-save-400-jobs

Govt to guarantee US$5m loan...to save 400 jobs *

Government will be moving to guarantee a loan of US$5 million to a private company—Grand Bay Ltd— in an effort to save the jobs of some 400 workers.

This was disclosed yesterday by Finance Minister Colm Imbert at a news conference at the Finance Ministry at the Eric Williams Financial Complex, Port of Spain.

Imbert said the Arima-based company which has a sister company—Trinidad Tissues Ltd—approached the ministry for assistance.

He said Grand Bay imports pulp from which it makes paper and it supplies products to its sister company, Trinidad Tissues, which manufactures toilet paper...

But wait, there's more...

http://www.newsday.co.tt/news/0,226302.html

Govt ‘bank rolls’ debt-ridden firm
THE STATE is now exposed to the tune of $340.2 million in relation to its decision to guarantee a loan by the Export Import (Exim) Bank of Trinidad and Tobago to an entity referred to as Grand Bay Limited, the ownership of which has been hidden from public view via offshore arrangements...

...“In the event there is a default, there are standard practices to be followed,” the Prime Minister said.

He said the Government’s decision in intervening in this case came in the current climate of job losses.

“The Government supports Exim Bank and a case being made to support the company to continue producing so as to save 400 jobs,” Rowley said.

Asked if this was new policy, Rowley said, “I expect that the bank will deal with this on a case-by-case basis. It is not every day that we are faced with a job loss of 400 jobs.” There is no record of a company called “Grand Bay Limited” in the Companies Registry...

ok 123 billion TT dollars.

What does it mean though? how will it affect us? won't we just get loans from the IMF etc?

Imbert said the economy is good and we are far better off than countries who are currently borrowing money from the IMF.
