Imagine that...walking into Beetham with 2x4's...don't worry it'll come to good use when they want to carry out your bodies...if they can find them.

which is very true. but the whole existence of the beetham is in question.. and the problems that exist there are textbook examples of many theories you come across in sociology : - about low income areas,, depressed living conditions and population turnover...

yes, many work hard for what they have ans strive to leave the area, but by and large the majority remains,, have kids and repeat the cycle,,, and the ones that leave are just replaced by more from elsewhere.. that area should have been torn down long ago instead of having them old barracks and tenement yard type dwellings around so long ...

these are the problems u face when u have a high concentration of people living in a small area.. its a proven fact... look at maloney and la-horquetta.. in maloney yuh have 21 buildings each with 64 apartments . lets average u have 4 ppl living in an apartment. thats 256 ppl living in one building,, an 5376 total , living in just the buildings alone ,, far less the single units and wafdas... no wonder a lot of them are highly aggressive and territorial... when u create an atmosphere that only breeds discomfort and frustration, you set the stage for human nature to take many down the wrong road,,, yes you provide housing, but lag in education and maintenance in these communities,,, dont provide facilities and opportunities in the quantities that are needed to give the ones who are ambitious an avenue to be productive..... of course it will go on, and on , and on,

how do you even begin to address a problem like that ?

the issue is not beetham gardens per se ,, its bad planning, bad adminstration, lack of vision, and a trail of manifesto butt-fuxx that the people have been swallowing for years on end...

very true

a friend of mine was also saying this

the environment itself isn't conducive for growth

coupled with the lack of career/job opportunities in this country

alas i have to say it, it IS the gov't fault... give out homes and get votes

eric williams started it

lol only issue is after the 1st strike the enemy will begin to evacuate the area.

you'll need personnel to cover the exits and box them in.

on another note why in god's name do they have such a vital hi way exposed in such a manner to criminals from this area?
If the attacks constantly occur why the fcuk isn't there a proper barrier to block them from accessing the road and putting the lives of innocent road users at risk.
hell some watch towers like what Israel use would be great in such an area.
or just use anti-personnel mines and mine that area..lets see them cross that.

'Beetham people want war' ...residents block highway, PBR in show of force. "Beetham people want war tonight!" This was the remark made by police yesterday evening as they swooped down on the Beetham Gardens after residents blocked both the Beetham Highway and the Priority Bus Route in protest of two police killings in the area late Wednesday night.

[quote="<a href="http://guardian.co.tt/news/crime/2009/10/16/dvd-vendor-shot-dead-broadway">DVD vendor shot dead on Broadway</a>"]Amid several horrified customers, popular DVD vendor Anderson (Redman) Bynoe was shot dead while conducting his trade on Broadway at downtown Port-of-Spain on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old man, a father of three, ages three to 11, lived at Concord Gardens, Malabar in Arima. Up to late yesterday, a 16-year-old suspect from Beetham Gardens was assisting police in their investigations. Officers from the Besson Street CID, under Insp Sahadeo Singh, were also searching for a 17-year-old man wanted in connection with Bynoe’s murder. Police said that around 10 pm, Bynoe was plying his goods in front of Bhagan’s drugstore in Port-of-Spain when a white Nissan B12 carrying four men stopped. Two of the men came out of the car and walked up to Bynoe, pretending to be customers.

The men pulled out guns and shot Bynoe several times at close range. As Bynoe slumped to the ground, police said, the assailants stepped over his body and fired again. The gunmen then returned to the vehicle which sped off. Within seconds of the killing, Inter-Agency Task Force officers who were on patrol received a description of the car which was seen speeding east along Beetham Gardens. When they approached the car and attempted to intercept it, shots were fired at the officers who then returned fire. Two of the suspects who were discovered dead were identified as Ricky Roberts, 39, and 45-year-old Fabien Mauge, both of Beetham Gardens. Upon searching the car, police discovered a loaded pistol and a revolver.

The other two suspect escaped on foot. However, one of the men was nabbed when he went to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital to seek medical attention for a gunshot wound to the left foot. Police said they believed that the other suspect who has gone into hiding has also been shot. Awaiting her husband’s autopsy results at the Forensic Science Centre in St James yesterday, Bynoe’s wife Naeimah said the killing was a mystery. She said Bynoe was a hard-working man and dedicated father who worked tirelessly to earn a living. On June 1, 2009, Bynoe’s elder brother Patrick also known as Boyie was shot dead.

The body of the 41-year-old man was found by residents of Beetham Gardens, during the early hours of the morning. An attempt was also made on the life of Bynoe’s other brother Ashley, known as Dunk, who has since migrated to the United States. Police described the two incidents as gang-related. Asked if there was a connection in the death of Bynoe’s brother and the attempted murder of other brother, Naeimah said she was not sure. Bynoe’s mother, Eileen, however, said she believed her son was killed because of jealousy. “My son just dress nice and he was successful. Is because they jealous him,â€

Gaza yeah right , i don't see tanks and skilled sharpshooters taking aim and blowing off limbs and life in any so called Gaza , here or in Jamaica

countries fought wars over the control of the Gaza, not a few minute gun fight , wars fought long before most of us were born and continue up to this day , associating a slum area because of the activities them people there chose to do with the real GAZA is nothing short of misguided identity and a want of so called recognition

GAZA
